Top three Mountain biking trails in Cyprus

Top Trail Guide Paul Dionysiou shares his three favorite Cyprus MTB Trails

Trail Nr3: Kannaviou Loop

A Trail through the Paphos Forest

Kannaviou is a village situated on the border of the Paphos Forest and is also the location of one of Paphos’s water reservoirs. The Kannaviou Loop climbs approximately 30 Kilometres through the dense Pine forests with scenic views of the Dam and surroundings. While it is a tough climb the scenery and following descend makes it well worth it. You also get a chance for a drink and food break at Stavros tis Psokas. Once you reach the peak of the climb the loop follows a descent along the E4 Trail along the Ezousa Riverbed returning on the opposite side of the Dam.

Trail Stats

Total Distance: 58Km

Total Elevation: 1434m

Total Time: 4:30hrs

Difficulty Level: 8/10

Loop: Yes

Trail Features: Plenty Climbing, Plenty Descending

Notes: The Kannaviou Loop is an 8/10 Trail mostly due to the 30km of climbing to get to the peek, it is also easy to get lost in the Forrest as Trails are not marked and many trails can lead you in the wrong direction. Ensure you are well prepared before attempting this loop. Guide is highly recommended.
