So Friday is almost done and the Weekend is just around the corner. It was another very busy and stressful week and there are two things that get me ready for Monday. Nature & Music. There isn’t a single weekday that goes by that makes me think about my next hike and my weekend Gig. There isn’t a single week day that doesn’t catch me imagining my next hike or our next gig. When you have little time for yourself during the week you need something no matter how big or small that is just for you. Something to look forward to and help you push through the hard days and stress. Hiking in Nature away from Computers, Internet, Phone calls and all the other “stressogens” is just priceless to me. We don’t really realize how fast time passes and how much time we waste on superficial entertainment. How often do you catch yourself skipping from YouTube video to YouTube video? Or sliding from Instagram to Instagram? It is so easy to get swallowed up by all these “social” sites but are they really “social”
So find your own reset button, it doesn’t have to be Hiking or Music. It could be anything, drawing, cooking, swimming who knows maybe knitting. What matters is that it is something you want to do, something you look forward to, something that is for YOU. This doesn’t mean it has to be something lonely, if you share the experience with someone who is just as excited about it as you are then you get double the reward. A shared memory and an amazing experience.
Make every day count because as much as we think this life will last forever unfortunately it wont. And its actually quite funny because I was told the same thing over and over again by the elders in my childhood and one thing is for sure, no matter how much you have done in the past, when you reach this point you always think you could have done more.
