I have recently upgraded the Shock on my Trek Fuel Ex 2017 to a Fox DPX2. This was not as straight forward as I had hoped it would be as measurements and bushings have to be taken in to consideration when buying a new shock.
Trek bikes use Fox shocks and therefore this is easier as they have bicycle shocks that are designed with the Trek Frame in mind. My Fuel EX is from 2017 and there are not many options in that size. Initially I wanted to replace it with the original Rockshox Deluxe Rl which had a faulty rebound but I was not able to get one for a decent price as CRC was out of stock and many online stores charged tons for delivery to my remote region.
So I began doing some research online and came across a YouTube video by Worldwide Cyclery that talked in detail about the Fox DPX2 (well worth watching)
It seemed like a really good shock for the Fuel Ex but they only had a 2020 version available. So I quickly sent an email to Worldwide Cyclery who confirmed that the 2020 Trek Version would 100% fit my 2015 Fuel Ex and would even include all the bushings I needed to mount it.
Getting to the Point
So to finally get to the point of my post, Yes the Fox DPX2 Trek Fuel version fits the older Trek Fuel ex 2017. Now this does not mean it supports older models as prior to 2017 the Fuel mounted its shock through the head of the shock so if you have a Fuel prior to 2017, please send an email to the busy hamsters at Worldwide Cyclery and double check before you order.

This article is in no way sponsored but I would like to give a shout out to WorldWide Cylcery, it was the first time I ordered from them but being in Europe and ordering from the US is always a bit of a difficult choice due to shipping costs and import tax, the guys at WorldWide Cylcery however really helped in and also shipped the shock SUPER fast so I can only recommend them.
