Osmo Mobile 3 is out and it seems to pack all the features that Osmo Mobile one and two has and is packing a ton of new features that users have been asking for. So lets delve deeper in to Osmo Mobile 3 and find out what’s new.
So whats new?
The Osmo mobile 3 now re-introduced the trigger which everyone really really wanted and needed, the trigger also now has the sports mode that reacts much faster and quicker for shooting quick motions and makes centring the phone much easier.
Active Track 3.0 which was also features on the Ronin SC (and sadly not on the Ronin S) which is much better at tracking objects than the previous versions of Active Track. Another great improvement to active track is that the subject no longer has to be in the centre of the image, you can now track the object or person and then use the stick to move the subject in to your preferred composition were it will stay.
Gestures are also now available on the Osmo Mobile so you can easily enable tracking by flashing a peace sign at your Osmo along with other signs you can use for various features. Other than gestures it also introduces Story Mode which automatically edits your footage in to a story but also records directly to your phone, Hyperlaps, Timelaps and Panorama mode and slow-motion.
So whats wrong?
The Gimbal is also fold-able and you can now charge your phone via the USB cable on the Osmo. But is it all good? YouTuber Iphonedo has identified some issues with the Osomo Mobile 3 which might make operating it a little more difficult such as balancing for example: Tilting the phone and thus flashlight mode is now only possible holding the gimbal sideways.
All in all the improvements of Osmo Mobile 3 and the new size factor when folding it seem to be a win for the Osmo Mobile series I have ordered mine and will hopefully get it soon, until then stay tuned for more short and long reviews.
