Step Seven, adding Instruments. If you are adding an instrument to the Mix such as an Acoustic or Electric Guitar things get a little more complicated depending on the instrument. The general tips here are:
- Fine tune your instrument sound with the backing track not by itself as frequency masking will change the sound when playing with the backing track.
- If you are using pedals and effects on your Instrument, then create and tune those effects at high volumes as it will change at gig volumes.
- Listen to the volumes, your instrument should be clearly heard but not overpower the backing track. Balance is key.
