Serial Killers are truly the stuff of nightmares and although many of them are caught, its is hard to believe that a lot of them have been released from prison either due to local law’s or errors in their investigations and trials. So without further delay, below is the list of the worst serial killers that are free today living normal lives amongst people that might not even know what they have done in their past. Issei Sagawa

Details of Crime:
Issei Sagawa is the son of a wealthy Japanese businessman, In 1977 he moved to France to study literature. On June 11th 1981 Sagawa invited his classmate Renée Hartevelt to his apartment to study and translate a school assignment. He then shot her in the neck and fainted, when he awoke he proceeded to rape her corpse. After a failed attempt to bite through her skin, he left the apartment to buy a butchers knife. The following two days he ate various parts of her body. Sagawa was caught trying to dispose of a suitcase filled with Renée Hartevelt’s body parts in the Bois de Boulogne lake.
Imprisonment and Release:
Issei Sagawa was arrested by French police and served a total of 15 months in Prison. Sagawa’s father provided a lawyer for his defense and was deemed legally insane and thus released and returned to Japan. In Japan Issei enjoyed a celebrity status speaking at TV Shows and giving interviews detailing his crime.
